War Again by Balkan Beat Box off of their new album blue eyed black boy. Reminds me of a southeastern European Black Eyed Peas.

Gogol Bordello – Live From Axis Mundi
Having seen Gogol live, I like this album very much. I love comparing the two versions of “Start wearing purple” that were released on different albums, and now I can compare the album versions of songs to these live ones.
If you’ve never heard of gogol, well… you should have. (Here’s a good place to start) Where else can you get your daily dose of gypsy punk? Yeah. I thought so, NOWHERE!
fun.

Recent addition to my music library, fun., catchy and fun. I couldn’t help thinking I was listening to The Format, finally my curiosity took over, and their wikipedia page confirmed that the singer is indeed Nate Ruess from The Format. Here’s some youtube for ya.
Creepy thing is, I swear there’s female vocals in some of the songs, and all 3 members of the band are male?
Music and the Law

A couple of weeks ago I was working in the yard midafternoon right as the busses start coming to drop the kids off. Just as my sister’s bus was coming to a stop, red lights flashing, stop arm extened, a kid nearly drove past it and the bus driver layed on the horn. The kid stopped, bus driver was pissed, and from out of the kid’s window I heard Nuetral Milk Hotel – The King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1. I started thinking to myself, had he gone past the bus, and the cops been called, as a witness I probably would have lied in his favor, just because he was listening to decent music. Why stop there? I spent the whole afternoon trying to imagine a legal system where penalties where more lenient if you were listening to good music at the time you commited the crime. Suddenly iPods became even more valuable because every criminal would need to have one. Even though they were more valuable, all of the criminals already had them so they weren’t being stolen anymore. It’s kind of strange how messed up things get and the weird positive consequences that stem from them.
P.O.S. – Low Light Low Life

This is why I love Minnesota!
I’ve had this song on almost a non-stop loop for the past couple of weeks I just cant get enough. It’s stuck in my head all the time. It just blows me away, take a look at some of these lyrics.
Different sea shore same thirty stores
Not too long ago mom and pop owned the shop
Prognosis progress the Dow owns the block
They got the medicine to fix your mood
til you learn to mind your place and eat that Sysco food
Life of the party were the death of the novel
The glass is half empty so pass the next bottle
The bullets are still on the shelves
But when the armory empties were melting down the bells
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour – Around the Bend

Apparently this is an ipod commercial, I don’t know cause I don’t watch tv. But what I do know is that I just had an awesome weekend, thanks friends!
Give me that thing,
give in my friend,
give me good good times around the bend
I’ll stay forever

First cd I’ve actually purchased in a long time. The cover art is amazing, the insert tears apart into 16 separate sheets and 5 clear ones so you can put them back in any order to make your own cover art.

Those of you who know me well know that I’m weird and have some ocd tendencies. One thing that I’ve tried to do once before, and failed due to a wiping my harddrive, is listen to my entire music library all the way through. I challange any of you to complete the task, as you can see I’m approaching the homestretch, I started at 4065 songs, 11.1 days, 26.50 GB.
All you need to do in iTunes is make a s
mart playlist that looks like this:
